Hotel photography for Federation Gardens
We were hired as an Airbnb holiday rental property photographer for this hotel in the Blue Mountains. A photo shoot for Federation Gardens near Evans Lookout in Blackheath.
Nestled on a large property surrounded by the lush bushland of the Blue Mountains you immediately feel like you are a million miles away.
The photography brief was to create a collection of photos to be used to help promote visits during the upcoming peak winter season, so the photos needed to consist of;
- The rooms and decore.
- The facilities and surroundings.
- Little details like the candles and open fire.
- The amazing lookout down the street.
- Some hero shots to use on website landing pages.
The owner, Robyn, then used the photos to promote her hotel by updating her website and online profiles on AirBnb, Booking.com, Stayz etc while adding to her library for social media use.

Where was this hotel?
About 2 hours west of Sydney just past a few minutes past Katoomba. It’s just a couple of minutes to Evans Lookout which boasts stunning views across the valley and the gateway to walking trails to explore the bushland below. Heading a few kilometres either left or right takes you into Katoomba or Medlow Bath to either explore, indulge or shop.
Hotel facilities
When you have space you can have nearly everything – indoor swimming pool, tennis court, pool table room, kids play area, outdoor fire pit and lots of open areas for ball games, bike riding and more. Surrounded by trees gives the place a sense of privacy as an added bonus and quite a large distance from the main road meaning its safe for kids.
