Car mechanic workshop photography
La Lente was hired as an automotive photographer in Sydney to take business photos of a car mechanic workshop located in Brookvale called Peninsula Sports Cars.
This car mechanic workshop had just been purchased so the new management team wanted a website built and they needed photos taken of their location and services instead of using stock library images.
Instead of taking poor quality photos with their mobile phone they decided to hire a professional photographer in Sydney instead. The library of images that were taken also included a commercial use license that enabled this car mechanic to use the business photos not only on their website, but social media profiles, print advertising, brochures and letter box drop pamphlets.
They needed photos taken that would be used on different sections of their website to promote the various services they provided, the workshop location and the staff.
The photos that we took included;
- The exterior of the car mechanic workshop from street level.
- The car mechanic staff working on cars.
- Photos of equipment, tools and the staff using them.
We took mulitple photos in both portrait and landscape as well as from different angles to give the website designer plenty of different images to choose from to fill the page layouts they had created.
Car mechanic workshop vehicle photos
A unique aspect of this photo shoot was to take detailed close up photos of different vehicles, design features, parts or interiors. These photos were to be used as website page backgrounds, section header images or even for social media.
The mix of photos taken also helps a potential customer identify the types of vehicles this car mechanic workshop normally handles. In the case of this business it is classic cars so I focussed on unique details like chrome instrumentation, leather seats, old radios etc.
Car mechanic workshop location photos
Taking location photos of a car mechanic workshop can be useful to use on a contact page of a website, as header images or even on a company page to give a potential customer a ‘feel’ of what the business looks like from the outside and inside.
For this car mechanic workshop they wanted to show the expansive space available, some of their feature products and the refreshed reception area.
In general the list of photos we would take at a car workshop would include;
Exterior of the workshop
Clear signage and a welcoming facade to help customers recognise the location.
Reception Area
Clean and inviting, showing a customer-friendly atmosphere.

A team portrait to add a personal touch and highlight the people behind the business.
Vehicles Being Serviced
Cars being inspected, repaired, or undergoing maintenance to showcase the variety of services offered.
Specialised Equipment

These types of high quality photos taken by a professional photographer will help convey professionalism, build trust and showcase the workshop’s strengths to potential customers.
For any automotive business the use of actual photos can create a competitive edge vs other local businesses who use generic images sourced from the internet.
Presenting real photos of your staff and environment creates a sense of authenticity that can’t be replicated with the very perfect stock library images.
