Product photography in Sydney for Tonka Toys
Tonka Toys wanted new product photography that didn’t feel too corporate but could inject some fun into their social media marketing.
This product photography session was contracted by the distributor of Tonka Toys in Australia. The brand wanted new photos that didn’t have a corporate feel to them so they could use them for local social media marketing and avoid images with fake backgrounds or Photoshopped mock ups.
With our marketing experience we looked at Tonka’s competitors, their existing collection of photos being used and also considered where or how these photos could be used.
They wanted to mix the use of these product photos with user generated content they were already receiving from Consumers who love the brand.
This is what we created for this product photography brief;
- Standard box shots of each product.
- Individual product shots.
- Group product shots.
- Product shots on location in a scene
Every Consumer searches online.
Searching for a product online is just a given these days. Billions of searches are done every day, so having strong product photography becomes even more important to stand out from thousands of items competing for attention.
Product photography that is put in situation can help people visualise how they can potentially use the item or how it could fit into their situation.
Stand out from competitors
Generally most product importers will provide a single image of the item in a box on a plain white background or a digital render in a few angles. These won’t get Consumer excited or bring a brand to life.
Getting product photography taken can help provide context and credibilty to your item and brand.
“I briefed Paul on a photo shoot for Tonka toys…brief being to create a collection of images that were not ‘corporate’ for our social media channels. With Paul’s marketing background crossed with his photography eye – there was not a dud photo! Paul came up with some ‘story’ concepts, did the shoot and presented some amazing photos. Highly recommended!”
