Mechanic Workshop photography
Fernside Automotive spent $3,000 on their new website and needed mechanic workshop photography to bring it to life.
We did this mechanic workshop photography session at Fernside Automotive who had just paid over $3,000 for a website to be built by OurAuto Digital. Unfortunately they didn’t have great photography to use on the website, so they had a choice of buying stock photos from online galleries, using mobile phone photos or hiring a photographer.
They service all makes and models of cars at their workshop located in Redfern just outside the city.
Luckily they decided to get professional mechanic workshop photography taken that could highlight the different services they provided, the workshop itself and the team. They needed to use the photography on their website, social media and local promotional flyers.
The brief for this photography session was to take photos of;
- The mechanic workshop.
- The mechanic team in action.
- Photos of parts and tools.
- The outside of the workshop.
- Team photos.
We had also suggested a number of changes needed to be made to their website which wasn’t ranking for basic search terms like ‘Mechanic’ ‘Car Service’ or other related phrases. Unfortunately they weren’t aware of this and sadly, many months later that is still the case.
So while they have amazing photography and spent thousands on a new website, it doesn’t have the right search engine optimisation in place to actually draw lots of search traffic in the local area.

How Customers search online.
These days Consumers will search online to find suitable businesses in their local area before they call or visit them. It means they are making decisions about your brand by what they see on your website, social media profiles or Google My Business listing.
They will read reviews of course and browse your recent social media posts to get an idea of what you do but ultimately they’ll make a final decision if they feel they can trust you; you create this with great photography.
Customers will be looking at;
- Whether the photos of your business are real.
- Are the photos good quality.
- Do they represent your business in a truthful way.
- Do the photos feel like they have been bought or copied from Google
Businesses who don’t do a good job presenting themselves online simply won’t get considered during a Customer’s research phase.
