My name is Paul D’Ambra, the owner of La Lente. You won’t read paragraphs filled with cliches here, it isn’t really my style. My story is fairly simple – I love taking photos and helping businesses develop with sensible marketing – all done in a no bull#$%t style.
My early interest in photography began as a teenager where my curiosity was sparked during a first trip to the Daintree Rainforest in Far North Queensland. Since then I’ve been fortunate enough to photos from around the world and with a raw, real style rather than post edited Photoshop illusions.
In 2015 I was diagnosed with Dysthymia, a form of anxiety and depression. To combat this I made the life changing decision to leave my 20+ year corporate career to develop my photography passion & use my marketing expertise to help people who really needed it, especially small to medium businesses.
I’m a bit of a walking contradiction, I love the creative freedom that photography can provide & the joy it gives people who receive my photos, but I’m just as comfortable digging through rows of Google Analytics data to find ways to help a business improve their sales and brand.
La Lente has been operating as a business since 2016 and I have been delivering a mixture of freelance photography and marketing projects for residential or commercial clients.
I have delivered commercially sensible results with a career that started when I was just 8 years old as a paperboy with an extensive consumer retail history from shop floor to head office and senior leadership roles at Lotus Cars, Hewlett Packard, Logitech, Harvey Norman, Dick Smith and Domayne.
I can bridge the gap between the intersection of marketing, sales, branding and the latest developments in the digital space. My broad experience has been spent in different job functions in wholesaling, distribution, product management, brand development, product marketing with exposure to local and international brands such Apple, Panasonic, Sony, Samsung, LG and others.
Those results are backed by over 200 written references where I have delivered business outcomes across a broad mix of service areas from photography to marketing strategy, website design, SEO and brand development.
